The ODC (Outpatient Diagnostic Center) recently celebrated its official grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new $6 million, 8,300-square-foot imaging facility at 3405 College Street. The ODC is the region’s only locally owned, full-service, outpatient diagnostic center.

The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official opening of the imaging center. The ODC provides state-of-the-art MRI, digital mammography, CT, ultrasound and general X-ray services to the Golden Triangle area of southeast Texas. The facility is also home to a comprehensive, dedicated women’s health center — The Marty Craig Women's Center — the only all-Hologic women’s center in the region.

“We’re providing the most advanced, community-based diagnostic imaging services supported by local physicians and their patients,” said The ODC Medical Director and radiologist Brent Mainwaring, M.D. “Opening this new center allows me to follow through on my health care philosophy, which is to keep medical decisions where they belong, closer to the doctor and patient.”

To better accommodate the needs of patients and physicians, the ODC offers expanded office hours, flexible scheduling and rapid report turnaround on most exams. The Marty Craig Women's Center at the ODC features a separate waiting room, offering privacy in an upscale, spa-like environment with ambient lighting, warm robes and a specially trained support staff. Services include breast ultrasound, digital mammography, breast MRI, breast biopsy and DEXA bone densitometry.

In 2011, Mainwaring announced he was leaving his previous position at Diagnostic Health Center of Beaumont, where he had practiced for 18 years, to open the new imaging center. Construction on the new facility was completed in late 2011.

Dr. Mainwaring is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with subspecialty expertise in diagnostic radiology. He has more than 20 years of professional radiology experience with special expertise in MRI, mammography and ultrasound. He is joined at the center by Associate Medical Director William McLendon, M.D., who brings more than 25 years of experience in radiology to the ODC.
