Saturday evening, police met with a woman in reference to a juvenile runaway.

The woman told police that her son, who is a juvenile, had been missing from home since Friday, Feb. 10. The woman said the last time she saw the child was at lunch time at WO-S High School.

The woman stated when she returned home after work, she noticed the juvenile was not home, and that she called her sister, who stated she last saw the juvenile at a home on Ruby Ln. at approximately 5:00 pm.

When asked, the woman stated that she believed the juvenile had gone to a friend’s house in Kirbyville. At this time, she completed paperwork reporting her son as a missing person.

Officer Jeffery Busby later spoke with an adult at the residence in Kirbyville. That person told police that she had the juvenile in her custody, and would take him to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and release him to them.

The juvenile was later released to his mother.
