Local businessman beaten, robbed at his home
A local business owner was seriously injured when he was attacked at his home early Saturday morning.
Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Officer responded to an aggravated robbery call in the 300 block of Widgeon, in the Waterwood Subdivision off Hwy. 62 in Orange County.
On arrival, officers met with 52 year old Ricardo Cejas, who is the homeowner. The victim, whoalso owns Tequila’s in Bridge City, told officers that he arrived home at approximately 12:20 am, when he was approached in his driveway by several unknown suspects. The suspects struck him several times in his face and head areas with unknown objects.
The suspects then stole personal and business property form the homeowner. Once the suspects had the property, they fled from the location in an unknown type vehicle.
The homeowner sustained serious injuries from the attack and EMS was contacted. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Officers with the Sheriff’s Dept. are following up on several leads.
