Local woman appointed to Gov’s Commission
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed 12 members, one a local woman, to the Governor’s Commission for Women for terms to expire Dec. 31, 2013.
The commission addresses issues affecting Texas women through outreach, education, research and referral services
Ivy Pate of Beaumont is regional vice president of CHRISTUS Health Southeast Texas. She is a member of the American and Texas Hospital associations, Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, Grant Makers Alliance of Southeast Texas, and Beaumont Chamber of Commerce Government and Public Affairs Committee.
She is also a board member of the Southeast Texas Nonprofit Development Center, a member of the Rotary Club of Beaumont, past chair of the Three Rivers Council Boy Scouts of America Distinguished Citizen Dinner, and past co-chair of the American Heart Association of Beaumont Go Red for Women Luncheon.
Pate received a bachelor’s degree from Lamar University.
