Rosita Brandon, 75, of Brookeland, went to the Lord on Thursday, March 15, at her daughter’s residence in Sam Rayburn.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City with the Rev. Charles Miller. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

A Rosary will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation following after from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Bridge City.

Born in Dagsboro, Delaware on July 30, 1936, Rosita was the daughter of Charles Robert Dorman and Lurena Mae (Steelman) Dorman. She became an LVN in 1969 and later, in 1992 she became an RN. Rosita was a nursing supervisor at Vidor Health and Rehabilitation until her retirement a year and a half ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, August Joseph “Alligator Joe” Brandon, Sr.; two grandchildren, Kristy Brandon and Brent Brandon; and brother, Robert Dorman of Delaware.

Rosita is survived by her sons, Charles Brandon and wife, Cindy of Orangefield, Joe Brandon, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Dorma Brandon-Brones and husband, Mickey of Sam Rayburn, and Susan LeDoux and husband, David of Orangefield. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and god-child, Lou Brandon.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Mickey Brones, Jason LeDoux, Matthew Brandon, Bryan Droddy, Jim Brackin, Bud Brandon, Bob Brandon and Paul Brandon. Honorary Pallbearer will be William Moore.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. 2151, Memphis, Tennessee 38101.
