Joe Miller, 80, of Orange, died Sunday, March 18, at Orange Villa.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be his nephew, Brother Gordon Miller. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery in Mauriceville.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home in Bridge City.

Born in Cameron Parish, LA., on March 28, 1931, Joe was the son of Dorcile and Lea (Suire) Miller. He worked at the rice mill for many years, but he also mowed lawns in the area for over thirty years. Joe was fun-loving and he enjoyed being around people. He especially loved and enjoyed his family. For the last year of his life Joe lived at Orange Villa, where he loved the staff and the other residents.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Miller; and brothers and sisters, Adolph Miller, Lee Miller, Angel Gregg, Audrey Suire, Jean Swiere, and Gloria Blanchard.

Joe is survived by his sister, Lorena Davis of Deweyville; his niece and special caregiver, Lisa Nixon; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wesley Palmer for his special care to the family and to Joe.
