Keith Francis Cart, 74, of Pinehurst, passed away Friday, March 16, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur after an illness.

Services to honor Keith’s life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orange with Father Joseph P. Daleo, pastor of the church, officiating. The funeral procession will depart from Dorman Funeral Home in Orange at 9:30 on Wednesday morning for the church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow the mass at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.

A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection and sharing will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a Rosary to be recited by Deacon Melvin Payne at 7 p.m.

Keith was born on Jan. 13, 1938 in Beaumont, to his parents, Saviegne Cart and Elexia (Johnson) Cart, he had lived in the Orange area for the last 12 years, he had previously resided in Houston and he worked as an welder and ironworker in the construction industry for Ironworkers Local #84 in Houston.

Keith was of the Catholic faith, he was a huge fan of the LSU Tigers since 1959, he was a Dallas Cowboys Fan, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, hanging up iron structures and he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Keith had many other things that he enjoyed such as living life to its greatest extent, reading his bible often, making charitable donations to St. Jude’s, the Southeast Texas Food Bank and the Children of Uganda. Keith in addition enjoyed great Cajun cooking and having a cup of coffee with his family and friends.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gussie Cart, Bobby Cart, George Cart, James Willard Cart and J. C. Cart; his sisters, Theresa Cart and Shirley Louque.

Those who will most cherish his memory are his sons, Sam Cart and wife, Dana of Orange and Brian Cart of Orange, Caleb Cart and Cody Cart both of North Carolina; his daughter, Kim Williford and husband, Louis of Mauriceville; his sisters, Audrey Beard and Geneva Hebert both of Deer Park; his grandchildren, Timothy Cart, Kristi Cart, Brianna Cart, Bryson Cart, Andrea Reno, Aaron Williford, Alyssa Webb and Andrew Williford; his great grandchildren, Ethan Cart, Austin Webb and Macenzie Webb. Keith is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, members of his extended family and a host of friends.

Honoring Keith as pallbearers are Eric “Bear” Hebert, Mark Beard, Steven Louque, Jeff “Lil Bear” Hebert, Dewayne Beard, Chris Hebert and Michael Beard. The honorary pallbearer is Waylon Kelley.

Keith’s family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of the Medical Center of Southeast Texas and the staff of Odyssey Healthcare Hospice for the care extended to Keith during his final days.
