Appleton Lonnie Stroud
Appleton Lonnie Stroud, 75, of Orange passed away on Wednesday, March 21, in Orange. He was a native of Deweyville; born on March 19, 1937 to the late Lillie Alberta (Perkins) and Lonnie Stroud.
He was a life long resident of the Orange area and was a member of Northway Baptist Church. He retired from Printpak, formerly James River Corp., as a warehouse folk lift operator. He served his country in the Navy. He loved to go fishing, going to the Waffle House, and he was an avid karaoke singer. Mr. Stroud was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stroud; wife, Billie Jean Stroud; sister, Mary Buxton, Ina Addison, Lorraine Issac; brother, Lawrence Stroud.
He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Green of Orange; sons, Chad Stroud and wife, Tricia of Orange, Douglas Broussard of Orange; grandchildren, Jodee Omey Newland and husband, Robert, Khris Omey and wife, Amanda, Brian Broussard, London Grace Stroud, Jordan Gillis, Kaylyn Roberts; great grandchildren, Cole Frost, Aliya Broussard and two on the way.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Dorman Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 26, at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Gene Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Garden.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Stroud, Khris Omey, Douglas Broussard, Larry LeBlanc Jr., Shawn Benoit and Jessie Mendez. Honorary pallbearers are Traay Frost and Steven Stroud.
