The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce presented Brenda Barker, an employee of McDonald’s on Texas Avenue in Bridge City as the Employee of the Month at their monthly Networking Coffee hosted by David Self Ford located at 1601Green Avenue in Orange.

Ms. Barker, a crew trainer, has been employed with McDonald’s since 2008. David Kirby manager of McDonalds is very proud to have Brenda as an employee, stating “Brenda is the best.” Brenda works the morning shift and is often referred to as “The Back Drive Lady.” Working the morning drive in shift can be daunting, but Brenda does it with grace and ease.

One customer had this to say about Brenda: “I am writing to nominate Mrs. Brenda Barker, from McDonald’s, for the Chamber of Commerce employee of the month. She is by far the nicest sales associate I have ever met anywhere!! I make sure that I go through the drive-thru every Monday morning just so I can start my week off right! Just to hear her sweet voice is enough to put me in a great mood! I went through one morning and I normally order a hot caramel mocha and a large coke. If I don’t say “hot” mocha, they will give me the cold mocha. So as soon as I pulled up to her window I told her I forgot to say “hot.” She said, “I recognized your voice honey, so I’ve got you covered! For her to recognize my voice just from going through once or twice a week is amazing! I just love going to McDonald’s in the morning and it’s all because of her!”

Brenda Barker received a plaque sponsored by David Self Ford honoring her as the Employee of the Month as well as gift certificates to The Record Newspaper, Bette’s Gift Shop, Luv Lingerie, DuPuis Tire and Service Center, Sonic Drive-In, Total Impressions Salon, Peggy’s on the Bayou, Trendz, Tiger Rock Martial Arts of Bridge City and David Self Ford.
