Funeral services for Ivory Opal Matthews, 96, of Hideaway, TX., will be 10:00 am Tuesday, June 12, at Genesis Baptist Church in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Cunningham Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Matthews died June 9, at her residence. Opal was a native of Browndell, and a lifelong resident of Silsbee before moving to Hideaway seven years ago. She was a retired grocery store clerk.

She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Matthews and son Tom Matthews.

Survivors include daughters June Durand of Pitkin, LA., Marjorie Garris and Gloria Skinner both of Hideaway and Jacklyn Horton of Denton; son Ralph Matthews of South Houston; sister Virginia Kuykendall of Greenwood, California; brothers Pete Powell, Jr. of Orange and Jay Powell of Bridge City; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren.
