Adrian John “A.J.” Neuman, 89, of Beaumont, died on Sunday, June 17, at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home, Vidor. Born on Jan. 5, 1923, in Arcadia, Iowa, to Margaret Augusta Schultz Neuman and Albert C. Neuman, he had been a resident of Beaumont since 1951.

A.J. was a United States Air Force veteran and retired auto mechanic. For many years, he volunteered at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont where he was known as the “popcorn man.”

Survivors include his children, Carol Botello of San Saba, David Neuman of Minden, LA., Nancy Hart of Vidor, Marlyn Neuman of Austin, and Kenneth Neuman of Rosharon; nine grand children; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mr. Neuman will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
