Jessie Ree McCarter, 91, of Orange, died Friday June 15, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, after a short illness. Mrs. McCarter was born in Geneva, TX., and later moved to Orange.

She was married to the late Elvert McCarter for 54 years. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.

Home going services will be Saturday June 23, at noon at St. Paul Baptist Church. Pastor Raymond Young will be officiating.

Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until time of service. Interment will follow at Magnolia Memorial Garden Cemetery in Orange.

She is survived by two sons, Elvert McCarter Jr. (Carol) of Country Club Hill, IL., and Gary McCarter of Orange; two daughters, Pamela McCarter Jackson of Hineville, GA., and Wanda McCarter Samuel of Orange; two sisters, Levell Scarborough and Learline Lee both of Houston. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
