John "Bud" William Simmons, Jr.

John "Bud" William Simmons, Jr., 77, died Sunday evening in his home in Yellowpine. He was born in Vidor, to John William and Imogene Rollo Simmons. Bud has lived in Yellowpine for five years coming there from Vidor. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and served in th U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961, he was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Hemphill.

Bud is survived by his wife Oline Simmons of Yellowpine; his sons Steve Simmons of Orangefield, Lynn Simmons of Vidor, Edgar LaBleu of Vidor, David Smith of Hemphill, Mike Smith of Hemphill; his daughters Kelly Manino of Vidor, Becky Compton of Beaumont, Brenda Welch of Townbluff and Eunice Spain of Townbluff; 12 grandchiidren and 20 great grandchildren.

Bud is also survived by his brothers Harold Simmons and Allen Gentry both of Vidor and his sisters Kathleen Cunningham of Warren and Betty Morris of Vidor.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, June 27, in the Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor. Memorial contributions to the Lakes Area Hospice, Jasper, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
