The Celebration of Life for Mr. John A. Dove, Sr., 65, of Orange, will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. C. W. Crawford is the pastor. Apostle Paul E. Thomas, associate at the Church of God Jesus Christ-House of Prayer of Vinton, LA will officiate. Bishop Alfred Ceasar is the pastor. Rites of Christian Burial are scheduled at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston.

Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.

He died June 24, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. A native of Lufkin, he resided in Orange 25 years. He was employed as a welder during working years. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era, he was Discharged with Honors.

He is survived by his wife, Inia Dove of Orange; six sons, John Dove, Jr. of Houston, Aaron Thomas of Orange, Corey Thomas of Beaumont, and Willie Williams and John Williams, both of Houston, and Paul Crochett of Orange; three daughters, Venus Thomas of Beaumont, Wilola Dove-Martin of Compton, CA, and Betty Thomas of Washington, DC; four brothers, Jack Dale of Stockton, Elzie Dove of Lufkin, Eddie Dove of Sacramento, CA, and Melvin Durpree of Houston; four sisters, Florene Young of Baytown, Betty Thornton of Orange, Janice Johnston of Lufkin, and Georgia Crain Dove of Dallas; and numerous grandchildren.
