Ricky Lamar Thompson, Sr., 59, of Groves, died Thursday, July 19, at his home. He was born on March 19, 1953, in Port Arthur, to Earnest Lamar Thompson and Hazel Moffette Thompson. Ricky was a lifelong resident of Groves and member of Triumph Church in Nederland. He was a carrier with Fed Ex.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, with visitation to follow until 9:00 p.m.

Ricky is survived by his daughter, Melissa Stansbury and husband, Mike of Groves; son, Ricky Thompson, Jr. and wife, Randi of Orange; former wife, Judy Thompson of Groves; two sisters, Linda Norris and husband, Harold of Winnie, and Dianne Mayer of Kaufman, Tx.; brother, James Thompson of Port Arthur; and four grandchildren, Alex Stansbury, Cameron Stansbury, Layla Stansbury, and Rylan Thompson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
