Gladys Irene Andreason, 84, died on July 29, in Missouri City, TX. She was born on Jan. 6, 1928, in Thorndale, TX. Raised by her grandparents, who were German immigrants, she attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Thorndale High School. After moving to Houston, she married Fred M. Andreason in 1951.

They moved to Beaumont in 1952, where she worked as a secretary for Sun Oil Company. They then moved to a rural area near Vidor, in 1963, where they lived until Fred's death in 1988. She worked at home as a bookkeeper for West Gulf Maritime until her retirement. She was active for many years in the Vidor PTA, taught Sunday School at Trinity Methodist Church, and was one of the founding sponsors of the Vidor Public Library.

Her love for animals, especially cats, led her to rescue and care for many strays during her years in Vidor. She was well known by the local vets for her compassion and concern. Her entire life was shaped by her simple, abiding faith in Christ, her genuine love for family and friends, and her generosity of heart.

She is survived by her son, Kurt M. Andreason and his wife, Lisa Vondy Andreason; her son, Mark W. Andreason and his wife, Lisa Haralson Andreason, all of Sugar Land; her grandsons, Max, Scot, Nicholas, and Alex Andreason; her granddaughter, Sierra Andreason; her sisters-in-law, Gwen Daum and Karen Andreason, of Houston; and two nephews, Kent and Steven Marty, also of Houston.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Aug. 3, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.

Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, in Webster.
