Helen Manning Duncan, 85, of Orange died Wednesday, Aug. 22, at The Meadows Nursing Home in Orange. Helen was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Orange and was a lifelong resident of Orange. She was a member of North Orange Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She worked as secretary at First Christian Church and retired from The Heritage Center of Orange as secretary /bookkeeper. Helen was loved by everyone who knew her and will be remembered as a faithful servant to our Lord.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with the Rev. Lynn Ashcraft officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Thomas Duncan; her parents, Vida Manning and Dewey Manning; brother, Carroll Manning; and sister, Shirley Duhon.

She is survived by her sons, Dwayne Duncan and wife Evelyn, and Kenny Duncan and wife Joan, all of Bridge City; three grandchildren, Jenny and Kensey Duncan, both of Bridge City and Wesley Duncan of Dallas; two sisters, Charlene Moore of Houston and Deborah Mitchell of Orange; one brother, Jerry Manning of Orange; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Britt Smithson, Mitch Smithson and Jeffery Dickens, all of Houston, and Doug Manning, Steve Wolfe and John Ray, all of Orange.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Orange Christian Services, 2518 Park St., Orange, Texas 77630.
