Walter “Bill” William Granger Sr., 72, of Orange passed away on Friday, Aug. 24, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was native of Orangefield; born on June 5, 1940 to parents Edna Maria (Taylor) and Caldron Caroll Granger. He was life long residence of Orange area and retired from Livingston Shipyard as a Ship fitter Foreman.

He enjoyed the outdoors; going fishing, deer hunting and shrimping. Bill was a loving man, who loved spending time with his family; who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Caldron and Edna Granger; son, Walter William Granger Jr .; two sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Vonda Granger of Orange; daughter, Carolyn Fregia and husband, Carl of Orange, Melanie Touchet and husband, Troy of Groves; son, Franklin Lee Granger and wife, Rita; sister, Linda Jo Barron and husband, Dwight of Nashville, TN, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Dorman Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Granger Cemetery in Orangefield. Serving as pallbearers will be Douglas Fregia, Troy Touchet, Carl Fregia, Pleas Evans, Michael Granger and Dwight Barron.
