Orange County football squads shut-out three opponents in Week 3. The undefeated West Orange-Stark Mustangs shut-out Class 4A Beaumont Central, 14-0. The Bridge City Cardinals took down Beaumont Kelly 35-0, and six-man Orange Community Christian shutout Bellville Faith Academy, 49-0.

Meanwhile, the Vidor Pirates defeated Clear Brook, 33-14. The Orangefield Bobcats took an early lead against the state ranked Newton Eagles but it evaporated to a 40-14 loss. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears had a bye week.

The Dist. 21-3A West Orange-Stark Mustangs are playing big- taking on bigger schools and knocking down Class 4A opponents. On Friday the Chain Gang defense shutout Beaumont Central 14-0. The undefeated Mustangs have already defeated the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears and the Port Neches Groves Indians.

Also undefeated and taking on bigger opponents is the Dist. 20-4A Vidor Pirates taking down Class 5A Clearlake. Vidor’s Montana Quirante rushed for three touchdowns and Justin Moore rushed for two in at Veterans Memorial Stadium in League City.

Bridge City running back Ashton Hunter rambled for 299 yards including a 62 yard touchdown on 27 carries in the Cardinal victory over Kelly.
