Tuesday evening, at approximately 9:46 pm, police responded to the 600 block of Decatur in reference to criminal mischief and a weapons incident. Upon arrival, a woman told police that a man had been calling her all day about property that belonged to him that he had at the woman’s apartment.

The man called the woman at around 9:24 pm, and she told him she was “around the corner, and for him to come over”. The woman told officer Christopher Cowart that when the man arrived, she was taking items she had bought from her car.

The woman said she went into her apartment to get the man’s Sony Play Station, and when she came outside with it, she observed him stabbing her car tire with a pocket knife. She climbed across the patio railing to confront the man, and when she did, he removed a handgun from under his shirt and pointed it at her face.

The victim stated that she was in fear for her life, as well as the life of her child, who was playing on the patio. The suspect then threatened the woman with her life, grabbed the game system and ran off in an unknown direction.
