Students stand together in prayer at CCS

Wednesday Sept. 26, students of Community Christian School met each other at the school flag poles feeling blessed to live in a nation where they are able to pray openly. September 26, was See You at the Pole day across the nation.

The topic for See You at the Pole was “Awaken” and the verses Ephesians 3:14-21, “Kneel before the Father and pray to be strengthened, for Christ to dwell in your heart, to be rooted and grounded in love, to grasp the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love, to be filled with the fullness of God.”

Teachers, staff, ministerial staff, parents, and students from preschool to twelfth grade stepped forward to pray for our nation, the elections, for schools all over, for others that are hurt or bullied, for those that serve in the military, for those that have injuries from sports and for the leaders of our country.

Pastor Daniel Rose spoke a few moments to the students and commended the courage of the Kountze junior high cheerleaders for stepping out and showing their faith. This is especially courageous today, because our leaders are taking God out of our schools, out of our government, out of our nation and are telling people where they can and cannot worship.

Community Christian School applaud the Kountze cheerleaders for “awakening” Southeast Texas and beyond just by simply stepping out on faith and making a difference. Indeed they are impacting our nation; you can find articles in newspapers across Texas, and as far as The Washington Post. “I'm actually thankful for it," Ashton Jennings, a Kountze cheerleader, told KHOU. "Because if someone hadn't complained, or if there hadn't been any opposition we wouldn't have this chance to spread God's word in this big of a way."
