Evie Marie Linscomb, 90, of Orange passed on Friday, Oct. 5, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. She was a native and life long resident of the Hartburg and Deweyville areas. She was born on Dec. 6, 1921 to parents Gracie Helen (Brown) and Milton Alfonzo Kirby. She was an active member of Hartburg Baptist Church.

She loved working in her yard; mowing her yard, handle an axe at 90 years old. She enjoyed, and was very proud of her bluebonnets. Evie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother; who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley T. Linscomb; daughters, Nelda Nadine Dartez, Phyllis Marie Vincent; sisters, Dorothy Williams, Helen Honeycutt; brother, Milton Kirby.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Deana Donovan and husband, James of Colorado Springs, CO, Terri Vincent of Deweyville, Michael Marcantel of Deweyville; sisters, Mahalia Tynes of Deweyville, Louise Ashworth of Deweyville, Nora Bergeaux and husband Wilford of West Orange; nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Oct. 8, at 10:00 am at Hartburg Baptist Church, with the Rev. Fred Raney officiating. Burial will follow at King Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Linscomb, Dustin Linscomb, Thomas “Bird” Gore, Fred Ashworth, Larry Williams and Gerald Wayne Tynes.
