Arrest made in Firestone FCU robbery

A two month and 10 day investigation into the robbery of the Firestone Federal Credit Union in West Orange in September of this year has culminated in the arrest of 26 year old Justin Samuel Mink of Orange County. The FBI has filed a federal complaint with United States Attorney’s Office as a result of West Orange Investigators forwarding their findings into the investigation to that office.

Justin Mink was arrested on Nov. 11, 2012 and is currently in the Orange County Jail on an unrelated charge and is awaiting transfer to the US Marshall’s Service for the robbery of the credit union.

West Orange Polices Officers responded to a report of a Robbery at the Firestone Credit Union in West Orange on Sept. 6, 2012. An unknown white male had entered the business brandishing a shotgun demanding money from the tellers. The male was described as being about 6 foot tall and weighing approximately 200 lbs. The suspect was wearing dark colored overalls, a maroon mask covering his face and head, sunglasses and gloves on his hands.

After getting an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left the business and was last seen running behind Aaron’s Rent to Own on Macarthur Dr.

The West Orange Police Dept. was assisted in the investigation by Officers from the Orange Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Vidor Police Department, Pinehurst Police Department, Bridge City Police Department and the FBI.
