Raunauda Shantell Mickey

The Celebration of Life for Ms. Raunauda Shantell Mickey, 32, of Orange, will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Dr. John H. Smith, pastor, will officiate. Rites of Christian Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the church.

She died Monday, Dec. 10, at her residence. An Orange native, she was a 1998 graduate of West Orange-Stark High School. She was a certified nurse’s aide, and was employed as a Home Health Provider. She was active at the Mount Calvary Church; she was a member of the Mission Circle, D.I.V.A.S., senior care ministry, mass choir, United Voices of Praise Choir, and a Youth Matron.

She is survived by one son, Mikyan Mickey; two daughters, Markayla Mickey and Key’Aira Overstreet, all of Orange; her father and step-mother, Earnest and Joyce Mickey of Orange; four brothers, Christopher Peck Perkins and Thomas Conway, both of Orange, Joe Martin of Beaumont, and Fred Johnson of Houston; eight sisters, Gail Johnson, Deidre Reed, Valrie Johnson, Shonda Johnson, Alisha Mickey, and Tara Hudson, all of Orange, Tonya Mickey of Dallas, and LaTanga Johnson of Tyler; grandmothers Bessie Richard and Leathia Peck, both of Orange; and step-mother Linda Reed also of Orange.
