Former CCS teacher indicted for improper relationship, sexual assault of a student

The Orange County Sheriff's Office received a call from the Community Christian School Administration on Monday October 1, 2012 concerning an improper relationship between educator and student. The alleged incident involved an educator at the School and a high school student.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and Investigators obtained information from school district officials and students about the alleged offense. Investigators conducted the investigation into this alleged incident. Once the investigation was complete, the case was presented to the Orange County District Attorney’s for review and disposition.

On Dec. 12, 2012 this case was presented to the Orange County Grand Jury. As a result, Valerie Danielle Sonnier, a 30 year old Orange resident, was indicted for improper relationship between educator and student which is a second degree felony offense.

Valerie Sonnier turned herself in at the Orange County Correctional Facility. Bond has been set at $20,000.
