Hulen William Turner, 78, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, in Starks. Hulen was born in Beaumont, to William and Winnie Hall Turner on Jan. 25, 1934. After serving in the U. S. Army, Hulen and his wife, Sarah, moved to New Iberia where he worked as a mechanic. Together they moved their family to Vinton and then moved to Starks six years ago. He was a member of the Lansing St. Church of Christ in Orange.

Hulen is survived by his wife, Sarah Pence Turner of Starks; three sons, Richard (Tammy) Turner and William Skipper (Laura) Turner both of Sulphur, La., and Todd Turner of Starks; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren with another on the way.

He is also survived by his siblings, Joycssine Harvey and John Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert Turner and Steve Turner.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Ford Cemetery in Newton.
