William A. ‘Bill’ Barclay, Jr.

Funeral services for William A. ‘Bill’ Barclay, Jr., 88, of Silsbee will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Jan. 12, at the First United Methodist Church in Silsbee, with a military graveside service following in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday at Farmer Funeral Home. Mr. Barclay died Jan. 7, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

A native of Call, Bill was a lifelong resident of Silsbee. He retired after many years from Silsbee State Bank as president. Mr. Barclay was a member of, and active in several civic organizations. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. Bill and his wife Mildred were also active for many years in the Orange Merry Mixers square dance club.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hicks Barclay; baby daughter Janet Fay Barclay; parents Agnes Bacon Barclay and William A. Barclay Sr., and sisters, Ruth Bradshaw and Mary Delaune.

He is survived by his sons, Daniel Barclay and wife Kathryn, and Harry Barclay and wife Liz, all of Orange; grandchildren, Dr. Kimberly Martin, Jason Barclay, Jennifer Barclay, Larissa Monson, Brett Barclay, Gregory Barclay and Brittany Barclay, and eight great grandchildren.
