According the Little Cypress-Mauriceville ISD, rumors of students bringing guns to LCM High School or students from another district coming to LCM with guns are running rampant.

Law enforcement officials began investigating the rumors last night and have concluded there is no truth to it. Officers are still on campus today, to assure parents of their students' safety. They are investigating Instagram and Facebook messages as well as other ways in which the rumor has been spread and who is responsible for instigating the rumor.

Campus and District administrators want to assure parents that their childrens' safety is at the top of the schools' priorities.

If any findings to the contrary are discovered on any campus, parents would be notified directly.
