William Bill Downs, Jr., 63, of Vidor, died Friday, Jan. 18, at Harbor Hospice, in Beaumont. He was born on Oct. 13, 1949, in Beaumont, to Bessie Jean Voight Downs and William Joseph Aubrey Downs, Sr., and has resided in Vidor since 1987. He was proud to have served in the United States Army before coming home and marrying the love of his life, Sherry. Bill liked building guns and enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Hensley Downs; daughter, Jennifer Downs McDaniel; son, Trenton Downs; grandchildren, Kinley McDaniel, Kieren McDaniel, Cade Downs, Christian Downs, and Angel Daigle, all of Vidor; and brothers, Larry Downs and his wife, Diane; Virgil Downs and his wife, Sylvia; and Troy Downs and his wife, Sheree'.

A gathering of Mr. Downs' family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 20, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Jan. 21, at Broussard's, with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor.
