Joe Lamar Stevison, age 68, of Starks, La., passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, at his residence. Mr. Stevison was a very hard working man. He was a tug boat captain for over 20 years. He loved people and was always ready to help anyone that needed him. In his leisure time he enjoyed,hunting, fishing, camping, boating and water skiing.

He was the son of the late Victor Lamar Stevison and the late Emma Lee Jennings.

He is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie Wilkerson and husband Stacy of Orange, and Mary Stevison of Starks; two sons, Ronnie L. Stevison and Chris E. Stevison both of Starks; one sister, Rose Sartin and husband Jack of Starks; 13 grandchildren and three great -grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers- Louis, Ronnie and Victor Stevison, and one son David Ray Stevison.

Visitation will be held at First Pentecostal Church in Starks on Monday, Jan. 28, from 5:00-9:00 PM, and Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 AM.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 11:00 AM at First Pentecostal Church in Starks. Bro. Greg Frazier will be officiating. Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Cottonwood, La.
