The Orange County Sheriff’s Dept. is reporting that a Vidor man has been hospitalized after being shot in the face in the early morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 31. According to Deputy Chad Hogan, officers were called to a home in the 2900 block of FM 1131 at approximately 1:15 am.

Upon arrival to the home, officers found 50 year old Darius Lacombe, of Vidor, with a gunshot wound to his face. He was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by helicopter. Lacombe is listed in critical, but stable condition, and in ICU, after undergoing surgery. Investigators have not been able to speak to him due to his condition.

Witnesses say they don’t know why Lacombe was shot, but were able to identify the shooter as Bryan Allen Duhon, 26, of Buna. Duhon fled the scene before deputies arrived. Duhon was located, and arrested on two outstanding warrants out of Orange County; probation violation and motion to impose guilt. He was transported to the Orange County Jail, where his bond has been denied due to the outstanding probation violation warrants.

The U.S. Marshal’s Service assisted OCSO in locating Duhon.
