Lillian “Sissy” Arnold, 93, of Nederland, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2. She was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Nederland to Mary Beatrix Howell and John Richard Ware, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Lillian devoted her life to caring for her family. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Nederland.

Lillian is survived by her daughter, Barbara Woodcock of Austin; sons, Fred Arnold and his wife, Debbie, of Port Arthur, Ted Arnold and his wife, Beth, of Bridge City, Robert Arnold and his wife, Rhonda, of Port Neches and Joe Arnold and his wife, Stacey, of Briggs, Tx; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Ware; husband of 52 years, Fred L. Arnold; and brothers, Ervin, John and Elmer Ware.

A gathering of Mrs. Arnold’s family and friends will be at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 4, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
