A Bridge City man was arrested Monday, Feb. 4, at about 3:41 pm, when Orange police responded to a call in regards to a theft in progress. A caller called police when he observed a white male drop copper tubing and run away from the 3100 block of Edgar Brown Dr. Officer James Roy located the suspect, who identified himself as Kent Daniel Pierce, 27.

The owner of the tubing was located and advised he did not wish to press charges due to the copper being old scrap metal. While speaking with Pierce, police observed him to have bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He was unsteady on his feet as he walked.

Due to the indications of intoxication, and fearing Pierce could possibly fall and injure himself, he was believed to be a danger to himself or others, and was placed under arrest for public intoxication. He was transported to the Orange County Jail.
