OF, BC students place in local UIL, Academic meets
Orangefield High School students participated in the Port Neches-Groves High School Invitational UIL meet on Saturday, Feb. 2. The results are as follows:
Computer Applications: Luke Johnson – second place, Eric Truncale – third place, and Kimanh Tsan – sixth place.
Spelling and Vocabulary: Kimanh Tsan – third place.
Editorial Writing: Lauren Davis – first place.
News Writing: Lauren Davis – sixth place.
Ready Writing: Lauren Davis – fourth place.
Persuasive Speaking: aleb Longron – fifth place.
Bridge City High School competed in the Hamshire-Fannett High School Longhorn Academic Meet on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 11-12, 2013.
The following are the results from this contest:
Literary Criticism-Jordan Smith placed first, Jessica Bean placed second and Jessica McKinney placed third. The Literary Criticism team of Jordan Smith, Jessica Bean, Jessica McKinney, and Faith Stephson took first place team. In Ready Writing, Jordan Smith placed first. The sponsor for these events is Diane Grooters.
In News Writing, Brittney Meeks placed second and in Feature Writing, Emily Roberts placed fourth. The sponsor for these events is Debbie Miller.
In LD Debate, Brittany Lauritzen took first place and Dani Sanders took fourth. The sponsor for LD Debate is Jennifer Clarke.
In Social Studies, Trinity King placed sixth. The Social Studies team of Trinity King, Karli Pittman, and Sidney Schubarth took second place team. The sponsor for Social Studies is Don Miller.
