LCM students attend state summit

Four LCM High School students who are members of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) attended the “Teach Tomorrow State Summit” in San Antonio, Feb. 17 through 19.

Members attending had placed at the regional competition held at Lamar State College-Orange in December 2012. Competing at the state level were Lauren Purgahn and Ivy Casteel in Storybook Creation, Ivy Casteel in Essay, Danielle Sonnier in Job Application and Emily St. John and Halli Underhill in Storybook Creation. (Underhill was unable to attend the State competition)

According to TAFE sponsor, Babs Foster, “These young ladies attended concurrent sessions on leadership and educational topics as well as doing an excellent job at the state level in their competitive area.”
