A 20 year old woman was arrested Thursday, March 14, after police were called to a home in the 1400 block of Orange Ave. Officer J. E. Roy responded to the home on a welfare check on an elderly female.

The welfare check was called in by the elderly woman’s care taker, after she observed a bruise on the elderly woman’s face. The care taker also advised that the woman was afraid of her granddaughter, who was identified as Megan Renee Glass.

The victim, who is confined to a chair and uses oxygen, told police that her granddaughter struck her with a closed fist for calling paramedics earlier in the day.

Glass was arrested on charges of injury to the elderly, felony 3/family violence. A protective order was also placed on Glass.
