Wayne Haley Brockett

Wayne Haley Brockett, 77, of Beaumont, died on Friday, March 15, after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Beaumont, Wayne was born in Fort Worth, on Dec. 30, 1935 to Ellen and A.B. Brockett. Wayne graduated from Beaumont High School in 1954 and also attended Lamar University.

He entered the electrical trade, and was a master electrician and member of IBEW Local 479 for 55 years. Wayne was the owner of Crown Electric, Inc. in Beaumont since 1980. His business partner and friend, Charlie M. LeBlanc, preceded him in death. Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather and friend to many.

He was a kind, gentle, and giving man and will be greatly missed by his wife and sweetheart for more than 56 years, Dora Wilson Brockett; his daughters, Deena Brockett Clausen and her husband, Ray, of Canyon Lake, TX, and Haley Brockett Ponfick and her husband, Allen, of Orangefield; his grandchildren, Kelli Jurek, Betsy McKinney, Kacy McKinney, Jenna Ponfick, Jane Ponfick, Lane Ponfick and Joli Ponfick; his great grandchildren, Sam Jurek and Dyllon Jurek, and other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jane Barras.

A gathering of family and friends will be held with visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, March 18, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 19, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
