Man sentenced to life in attempter murder charges

An Orange man was sentenced to two life sentences Wednesday, March 20, in the 163rd District Court of Orange County. David Glen Mays, 36, was arrested on attempted capital murder charges, when he shot at officers as they executed a narcotics search warrant in May of 2011. Mays was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and felon in possession of a firearm.

According to Capt, Cliff Hargrave, with OPD, the suspect was inside a residence in the 2300 block of Riverside when he fired a .40 caliber Glock through the doorway at officers. No one was hit in the shooting.
