Merissa Underwood of Bridge City is the daughter of Ronnie and the late Denise Underwood and Dayna Underwood and is ranked 48 out of 177 with a GPA of 3.79. Underwood has several accomplishments, including NCA All-American; Leadership Award; Best All Around Mascot 2010; Most Spirited Mascot and a NCA Staff nominee. She has been voted to homecoming court for all four years of high school and was named the 2010-2011 Homecoming Queen and Football Sweetheart.

Underwood has also been named as a State Finalist Homecoming Queen, attended RYLA Leadership Camp, and participated in Autozone Liberty Bowl representing Texas.

Underwood currently serves as Co-President of the Art Club, Vice President of FCCLA, Executive Student Council Parliamentarian, the Varsity Cheerleading Team, and serves in many community service organizations including the Hospitality Center in Port Arthur, vacation bible school at Winfree Baptist Church, a mentor to pre-k students, Santa for Seniors, Relay for Life, Challenge League softball games, Gumbo Cook-Off for Bridge City Bank, CVS Grand opening and the Symphony of Trees.

She has also placed second at school art exhibition and at campus competition at Beaumont State Fair Contest 2009.

Underwood plans on attending Lamar University and hopes to one day become a photographer.

Her teachers call her” amazing”, “leader”, “dependable and self motivated” and an “outstanding student to a new level” and they like the “fact that she can’t hide that Big Red Pride!”

Bradley Worthy, the Orangefield student, is the daughter of Kelli and Clint Worthy and is ranked 18th out of 132 with a GPA of 3.85 was chosen by the Art Department. Worthy has been named the Regional Qualifier for Varsity Tennis for 2009 and placed 4th place 2010, named a Championship-Level Player in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) for the 15-16 and 17-18 year old division, served as Vice President of the Art Club his Junior Year and President his Senior year, he has been named for the All Region Band All Texas Small School Band for 2004-2007, Best of Show at the Local Livestock Show contest, and a regional qualifier in tennis for 10th and 11th grade.

He is also a member of the Art Club since his sophomore year, Future Teachers of America, National Honor Society, Band, Student Council Parliamentarian and Varsity Tennis since 2008. Worthy has volunteered at the Hospitality Center in Port Arthur, Church Sunday School, concession stands, and the Salvation Army can food drive.

Worthy plans to attend Lamar University, majoring in Engineering while playing college tennis.
