Commissioners approved the following list of roads to be repaired and used as the county’s match for the East Roundbunch swing bridge project to be taken on by TxDOT. Clark Slacum, County Engineer said it will probably be a year before the road work begins because of environmental requirements that must be completed before construction begins, but the work is required to be completed by Dec. 31, 2015. “I would rather have three summers to work on it, but I’ll only have two,” said Slacum.

County Judge Carl Thibodeaux said this is a “win-win” for the county being able to do other road work and it counting for the 10 percent match for the bridge project.

Most of the roads are in Precinct 3, which is where the bridge is located and most of the roads were damaged by Hurricane Ike. The roads to be repaired are listed below by precinct.

Precinct 1: Allie Payne Road from Orange city limit to end of road; and South Teal Road from State Highway 87 to 200 feet west of Dunromin Road. The total to Precinct 1 is $311,113.60

Precinct 2: Harmon from Tulane Road to end of road; J.B. Arrington Road from Tulane to end of road; Mandi Lane from J.B. Arrington Road to end of road; South Burton from Tulane Road to end of road; Stanton Drive from Tulane Road to end of road; Albert Drive from Tulane Road to Stanton Drive; and Whitman Road from South Burton Road to end of road. The Precinct 2 total is $325,692.80.

Precinct 3: Victory Circle from Highway 87 to Hwy 87; Gaylynn Drive from Highway 87 to Patillo Road; Briggs Drive from Hwy 87 to Patillo Road; Kingfisher Street from Audobon Street to end of road; Bob White Street from Country Lane to end of road; Redwing Street from Country Lane to end of road; Meadowlark Street from Audobon Street to end of road; Country Lane from Roundbunch to Fishook Lane; Audobon Street from Country Lane to end of road; Fishook Lane from Country Lane to McKnight Road; McKnight Road from North End of Road to south end of road; Idylwood Street from Roundbunch Road to end of road; Douglas Street from Honeysuckle Street to end of road; Cottage Lane from Idylwood to end of road; Kay Street from Roundbunch to end of road; Inez Road from S. Patillo Road to end of road; Carpenter Circle from S. Patillo Road to end of road; Carpenter Extension from Carpenter to Carpenter; W. Veazy Street from Highland Drive to S. Patillo Road; Myrtle Street from S. Patillo Road to end of road; Honeysuckle Drive from Idylwood south to end of road; Fairview Drive from Patillo Road to W. Veazy Street; S. Patillo Road from Patillo Street to W. Veazy Street; Ancar Street from S. Patillo Road to end of road; Briggs Road from S. Patillo Road to end of road; Dearing Road from S. Patillo Road to end of road; Tootie Road from S. Patillo Road to end of road; Patillo Circle from Patillo Road to Patillo Road; Berwick Street from Hwy 87 to end of road; Timberlake Drive from Patillo Road to Berwick Street; Patillo Road from Hwy 87 to end of road; Victory Lane from Patillo Road to end of road; Highlander Drive from Patillo Road to Patillo Circle; Flicker from Audobon Street to end of road; and Greathouse from Farm Road 105 to Greathouse.

Total for Precinct 4 is $1,512,105.42.

Precinct 4: Four Oaks Ranch Road from 11,297 feet west of Farm Road 1131 to the end of the road. The total for Precinct 4 is 333,281.60.

Grand total for all four precincts is $2,482,193.42
