Russell Rusty Jones, 51, of Sour Lake, died Wednesday, March 27, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on Dec. 17, 1961, to Nellie and Marion E. Jones, Jr., in Port Arthur, and had been a lifelong resident of the area.

Rusty was employed as a machinist with Honeywell Refinery in Orange. He enjoyed hunting and gardening with his wife, lived to watch his son excel at McNeese State in football, and cherished spending time with his daughter and precious granddaughter.

Rusty is survived by his wife, Traci Jones of Sour Lake; daughter, Rachael Jones of Nederland; son, Ben Jones of Lake Charles; granddaughter, Presley Ortega; step-daughter, Lindsey Van Zee of Cedar Park, TX; parents, Nellie and Marion Jones, Jr. of Nederland; and brothers, Phillip Jones of Nederland and Joel Jones, both of Beaumont.

A gathering of Mr. Jones' family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, at First Assembly of God, 2024 Nederland Avenue, Nederland.
