Kevin “KK” Lynn Doucette, 46, of Mauriceville, passed away Thursday, April 25, at his home. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Friday, April 26, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with a wake service at 7:30 pm.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, April 27, at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Mauriceville, with the Rev. Delphyn Meeks officiating. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory.

Born in Sulphur, on April 7, 1967, Kevin was the son of Wayne Doucette and Carolyn Williams Doucette. “KK” was a self-employed paint contractor and owner of Doucette Paint Company. He served as the Vice President and a coach for the Mauriceville Youth Football League. Kevin volunteered at the Mauriceville Senior Citizens’ Christmas dinner every year. He was a member of the St. Maurice Knights of Columbus. Kevin’s personality was larger than life, and he never met a stranger. He loved to spend time with his family and friends hunting, boiling crawfish, and watching his kids play sports.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cynthia Doucette of Mauriceville; daughter, Garney Elizabeth Doucette; son, Jesse Allen Doucette; parents, Wayne and Carolyn Doucette of Vinton; mother-in-law, Arlene Garney of Mauriceville; brothers, Brent Doucette and wife, Carmen of The Woodlands, and Michael Doucette and wife, Brenda of Houston; brother-in-law, Ricky Viator, and sister-in-law, Deborah Viator of Mauriceville.

Other survivors include, nephews; Daniel Doucette, Joseph Viator, and Casey Viator; nieces, Taylor Doucette, Carolyna Doucette; aunts, Nancy Barrett and Randy Jones; cousins, Thomas and Tina Barrett, Chris and Stephanie Barrett, Tracy and A.J. Janosko, Penny Bellow, Dennis and Michelle Brasfield, and Kellon Navarre; their children, Sidney Barrett, Andrew Janosko, Jackson Janosko, China Barrett, Blake Barrett, Dash Barrett, B.J. and Lanie Delahoussaye, and Christian Navarre; other close family; T-Ray and Corliss Viator, Jeff and Teresa Viator, Jerry and Staci Viator, Max and Kathy Keith; and their children, Ashley, Lindsay, Peyton, Jennifer, Julianne, Jacie, Balie, Stuart, and Valerie.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Doucette, Michael Doucette, Daniel Doucette, Ricky Viator, Joseph Viator, Casey Viator, Tate Floyd, and David Babineaux. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mauriceville Youth Football League.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a benefit account for Garney and Jesse Doucette at Firestone Credit Union.
