Updated-The West Orange-Stark Mustangs will be well represented in the University Inter Scholastic League Texas State Track Meet today with teams in the Boys 400m, 800m and 1600 meter relays. WOS girls will participate in the 800 meter relay. In individual events Ra’shon McDonald will represent the school in the 400 meter and Will Johnson will race in the 300 hurdles.

Other Orange County athletes competing today are Bridge City’s Alexus Henry in the High Jump and Kati Thornton in the Pole Vault.

The only athlete that competed on Friday was Little Cypress-Mauriceville’s Zoe Casteel. She placed 8th with a vault of 11 feet.

Today’s results:

Bridge City’s Alexus Henry took 6th in the high jump with a leap of 5-6, while Kati Thornton vaulted for 10-6 taking 9th place.

West Orange-Stark begins their evening of running with a 2nd place showing in the 400 meter relay with a time of 41.25. The team consists of Maurice Morris, Chris James, Thomarcus Fontenot and Colin Janice.

WOS boys placed 2nd in the  800 meter relay with a time of 1:26.14. Members of the team are Morris, James, Janice and Jerrod Ross.

Lady Mustangs came in 6th in the 800 meter relay with a time of 1:41.33. Team members are Ly’Sha Cole, Shalin Hardin, Aaliyah Teel and Shavontae Thomas.

Ra’Shon McDonald placed 9th in the 400 meter dash.

Will Johnson placed 9th in the 300 meter hurdles.

The WOS 1600 meter relay team finished in 5th with a time of 3:21.85 giving them 2nd place overall in the team standings.

Members of the 1600 meter relay team are McDonald, Janice, Deionte Thompson and Jerrious Tims.
