Barbara A. Danks, 70, of Vidor, died Wednesday, June 5, at her residence. A native of Louisiana and longtime resident of Vidor, Barbara was a retired nurse and served in The United States Army. Barbara's passion in her retirement years was serving in the American Legion for 25 years, 10 of those years she served as the commander for the Vidor Chapter Post 112.

Barbara was an active member of First Baptist Church in Vidor. One of Barbara's greatest joys in her life was watching her family grow.

A visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor on Friday, June 7, between the hours of 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, with funeral service following. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clair Danks, and is survived by son Scott Danks and his wife Amber of Bridge City, along with their children, Jude and Claire Danks; her daughter Sherrene Danks Cook of Venice, Fl.; and her son Justin Moore of Orlando FL.; uncle, Ernie Duhon, and his wife Angie, of Bundicks Lake, La.

Pallbearers are Justin Moore, Randal Allen, Andrew Waldrep, Butch Broussard, Vance Blume, Dewight Williams and Edward Durham.

Barbara will always be remembered as a loyal patriot to her country, and a dedicated, lovely mother and grandmother.
