James Ned Joseph “Pappy“ Comeaux, Sr.

James Ned Joseph “Pappy“ Comeaux, Sr., 64, of Orange, passed away Monday, June 24, at his residence. Born on Dec. 11, 1948 in New Iberia, LA. to his parents, Robert Comeaux and Evola (Gary) Comeaux, he lived in Orange for the past 30 years and had previously lived in New Iberia.

Ned worked as a truck driver all of his life, but recently decided he wanted to spend more time at home with family. His place of employment at his time of passing was Little Cypress Mauriceville CISD Transportation Department as mechanic and sub driver, where he fit right in with the guys in the shop who called him “Pappy” as well.

Ned was also a veteran of the U. S. Army Reserve. Ned was of the Catholic faith, he was an avid L.S.U. and New Orleans Saints fan. He was a very giving and generous person often putting others before himself. Above anything in life, Ned enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grand kids.

Those who will most cherish his memory are his wife, Paula Duhon “Granny” Comeaux of Orange; daughters, Nichole Ann Comeaux Reaux and husband, Zac of New Iberia, Natalie Ann Comeaux Trosclair and husband, Mel of Ruston, LA., Cassandra Dawn Comeaux of Orange and Stephanie Ann Duhon of Orange; sons, Ned Joseph “Boo” Comeaux, Jr.

of Ruston, and Eric Paul Duhon of Orange; sister, Nell Comeaux Delahoussaye and husband, Danna of New Iberia; his brothers, Neil Comeaux and wife, Marlene and Robert Comeaux, Jr.

and wife, Anita all of Youngsville, LA; his father, Robert Comeaux, Sr.

of Crowley, LA; his mother, Evola Comeaux of New Iberia .; his grandchildren, De-Rais, Trais, Jais, Chase, Kelsey, Alivia, Millie, Cameron, Tyler, Roland, Brice, Rocky, Matthew, Nevaeh, Jonus, Tyler, Brant, Niko, Mariah, and his great grandchildren, Morgan, Mattox, Corbin, Aiden, Amelia, Connor, Kensley, Gavin.

Services by which to honor his life will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 28, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. A gathering of Ned’s family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
