Doris Ketterman, 86, of Bridge City, passed away Sunday, July 7, at The Meadows in Orange. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Brother Charles “Butch” Thurman, pastor of First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Scottie Wilson, Ryan Malagarie, Robert Lee, Trent Lee, Ian DeRanieri and Cliff Veazey.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home in Bridge City.

Born in Elmina, Tx., on March 5, 1927, Doris was the daughter of Joshua Berry Welsh and Effie Adell (Kelley) Welsh. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years. Doris was a member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City, the Eastern Star #1038 where she was a charter member and the American Postal Workers Union.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John “Red” Ketterman; and sister, Novella Miller.

Doris is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Tommy Malagarie of Orangefield, Dianne and Eric DeRanieri of Groves; seven grandchildren, Scottie Wilson, Dede Veazey, Stacy Malagarie, Ryan Malagarie, Robert Lee, Trent Lee, Ian DeRanieri; eight great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and sister, Virginia Thompson of Pasadena.
