Barbara Miller Peveto, 79, of Orange passed away Sunday, July 14. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 18, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Ed Rawls, pastor of Silver Oaks Baptist Church. A gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

She was born March 5, 1934 in Starks, to Albert and Lela Miller. She was a homemaker who loved nothing better than being with and loving her family and God.

She was a loving wife to Don; mother to Debbie, Jeanne, Mike and Skeet; Nana to 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way, and her first great-great granddaughter on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lela Miller; three brothers, Jackie, Clebert and Donald Ray Miller, and two sisters, June Ashworth and Sue Sibley.

Mrs. Peveto is survived by her husband of 40 years, Donald R. Peveto; daughters, Deborah Miller and her husband, Rodney Miller of Mauriceville, and Jeanne Swinney and her husband, David of Deweyville; sons, Michael Johnson and his wife, Lori of Bridge City and Lyndon “Skeet” Johnson and his wife, Martha of Mauriceville; and step daughters, Donna Peveto of Coleman and Debra Hughes of Cypress.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; one great-great granddaughter on the way, and brothers, Darrell Miller of Vidor, and Carlton Miller of Singer, LA.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be given to Wounded Warrior Foundations.
