William E. Pearson

William E. Pearson, 78, a former resident of Bridge City, passed away Saturday, July 6, at Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, Wa. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be the Rev. David Millner, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in West Orange. Burial of cremated remains, with full military honors provided by the Honor Guard from Ft. Polk, will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

William was born in Paducah, Ky., on Jan. 23, 1935. He was a retired Staff Sargent for the U.S. Army and has lived in Auburn, Wa. for the past three years. William loved being outdoors, especially enjoyed gardening. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a former member of the U.S. Army Color Guard.

He was preceded in death by his sons, William E. Pearson, Jr. and Robert E. Pearson.

William is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl and Enand Young of Orange, Nanci Van Tighem of Washington, Linda Gooch, and Faith Ann Sutton; son, William Brock; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia DeRosier.
