BCISD announces 2013-2014 registration

Bridge City ISD has announced the student registration for the 2013-2014 school year. The schedules are as follows:

BCHS

New students: Students who are new to the district can begin to pre-register on Monday, July 29. The student, along with the parent/guardian, must go to the assistant principals’ office to pre-register. Items needed for pre-registration are previous school records, current immunization records, certified copy of birth certificate, proof of residence (lease purchase, rental agreement, or current permanent utility bill), legal guardianship information (if appropriate), and social security card.

A parent or guardian shall be present with the student to complete registration procedures. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. If there are any questions, please call 735-1616. New students must complete pre-registration so their schedule of classes can be picked up on orientation day, Monday, August 12.

To participate in orientation:

Students are required to adhere to school dress and grooming policies.

August 12 - seniors 12:30-1:15; juniors 1:30-2:15; sophomores 2:30-3:15, and RTC–Freshman Orientation 6:00-7:30. This will all be led by Cardinal veteran students for all incoming freshmen and parents.

If you wish to park on campus, you must purchase a reserved parking permit. To purchase a permit the following items are required:

1. Proof of Liability Insurance.

2. Your valid Texas Driver’s License.

3. Your vehicle’s license number.

4. Drug testing permission form signed by parent. NOTE: If you have a previous form signed and in our possession, no form is necessary.

5. Parking Permits will cost $20. All students driving vehicles must have the vehicle registered with the school and the parking permits must be visible at all times.

Provine School Pictures

Individual student portraits will be made during orientation. In order to give everyone the opportunity to purchase a package to suit their individual needs, you may choose from specified packages. The correct amount of money must be brought to orientation. Please make checks payable to Provine.

First day of school is scheduled for Aug. 26. Classes will be held from 8:00 am until 3:35 pm.

BCMS :

New students - Students who are new to the district may register Monday, Aug. 5 – Friday Aug. 9, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Counselor’s office. A parent or guardian must accompany the student and have the following items:

Birth Certificate

Social Security Card

Immunization Record

Proof of Residence

Most Recent Report Card

Seventh and eighth grade Students previously enrolled will attend our orientation day on Monday, Aug. 19, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in the Middle School Cafeteria. Students must meet dress code requirements to attend.

Incoming 6th grade students will attend Orientation that same day, Aug. 19, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Middle School Cafeteria. A brief meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. with campus Administrators speaking to the parents. Following will be student pictures (which may be purchased at this time) and schedule pick up. Parents and students may visit classrooms. Students must meet dress code requirements to attend.

Seventh and eighth grade athletes, and students who participate in an extracurricular activity can turn in physicals and drug testing forms to the coaching staff after registration. Please ensure that immunizations are up to date.

Intermediate School

Grades three, four and five:

New Students: Students new to the district should register from Aug. 12 – Aug. 23 in the campus main office from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. New students must have previous school records, a certified copy of birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security card, proof of residence(light bill, water bill or lease/rental agreement), and shall be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Bridge City Intermediate will distribute schedules August 23, from 1:00-3:00 pm. Students are encouraged to take supplies to their assigned homeroom at that time. Teachers will be in classes to greet parents and students. Third grade parents are asked to arrive at 1:00 for orientation to begin at 1:15 in their child’s classroom. General Parent Orientation will be in the cafeteria beginning at 2:30 p.m. to review campus procedures, BCISD policies, and important state mandates. Students unable to attend the registration on Aug. 23. will be given schedules in the school office on Aug. 24, from 8:30 am -3:30 pm.

Teachers will not be available on Aug. 24, due to staff development.

First day of classes will be, Aug. 26, from 7:50 a.m. -3:00 p.m.

Bridge City Elementary School:

New Kindergarten students: Students new to the Bridge City District may enroll beginning June 3, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, and have the following: a state certified copy of birth certificate, immunization records, social security card, proof of residence (electric or water bill, or lease only), and ID of parent or guardian.

New first and second grade students: Students new to the Bridge City District may enroll beginning June 3, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students must have previous school records, a state certified copy of birth certificate, immunization records, social security card, proof of residence (electric or water bill, or lease only), and ID of parent or guardian.

Class/teacher assignments will be posted at the Parent and Student Orientation day.

New pre-K students: Registration begins on Aug. 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Student must be four years old on or before Sept. 1, and have the following: Proof of income for month of July (Must meet the National School Lunch & Child Nutrition Programs Income Eligibility Guidelines), a state certified copy of birth certificate, immunization records, social security card, proof of residence (electric or water bill, or Lease only), and ID of parent or guardian.

Eligibility extends to:

  • · Dependent of Active Military (Parent/Guardian must have Military ID)
  • · Child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, who was injured or killed serving active duty
  • · Child that has been in foster care of the Department of Family and Protective Services
  • · Child with limited English language (registration pending a language assessment)

Parent and student orientation: Thursday, Aug. 22:

  • · Kindergarten 8 a.m. - 9 a.m.
  • · FirstgGrade: 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
  • · Second grade: 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
  • · PK: 1:00 -2:00 p.m.
