Investigators with the Orange Police Department are searching for the suspect(s) involved in two “car-jacking” incidences over the weekend.

The first report came in about 6 a.m. Saturday and an officer was dispatched to 2419 16th Street. The victim, an Orange man, said he was assaulted with the suspect’s fist. The suspect also took his black 2011 Honda Civic, according to reports from the Orange Police Department.

The suspect fled the scene and the vehicle has not been recovered as of press time.

The second incident occurred about midnight Saturday in the 900 block of West Front Ave. A Sulphur, La. man arrived at the police department and reported to police prior to his arrival he had gone to visit a friend at the apartment complex located at 111 Pine. The man said that while in the parking lot, a man approached him with a black semi-automatic handgun and ordered him out of his 2002 Dodge Charger.

After exiting the vehicle, he was struck on the back of his head by the suspect with the handgun. Before fleeing the scene, the suspect took the man’s cell phone and an undetermined amount of cash.

The vehicle was later recovered in Louisiana, according to Capt. Cliff Hargrave, of the Orange Police Department.

The descriptions of the suspect at this time are said to be in both cases, “a black male.”

Anyone with any information on the case is asked to call the Orange Police Department at 409-883-1026.
